Open Weekend at the Ancient Technology Centre, Cranborne

atclonghousemainAs part of the ongoing Festival of British Archaeology 2010, the Ancient Technology Centre (ATC) in Cranborne, Dorset, will be opening to the public on Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August 2010 from 10am to 4pm for a weekend of all things ancient and especially all things Viking!

The public can stroll around the site and step back in time from the Neolithic period right through to the Roman invasion of Britain, including the 24 metre Viking Longhouse, which opened earlier this year.

ATC staff and volunteers will also be on hand to demonstrate and to encourage the public to try out various crafts and skills for themselves. BBQ, home-made cakes and refreshments will be available.

Tickets on the door: £5.00 per adult; £2.50 per child (4 -16 yrs); free entry to YAC members.
