Singer Tracey Martin performed to a delighted group at the third Sunday Social on 2 August, at Greystones Hall in Highcliffe, Christchurch.

Organised by ICM and Forerunner Personal Catering, Bournemouth’s largest meals on wheels provider, the third event to be held on the first Sunday of each month went smoothly and saw a good turnout of around 60 older people.

Free-of-charge for all, guests were treated to a delicious chicken casserole, roast potatoes and vegetables, followed by two varieties of dessert. After tea and coffee, they then settled down to be entertained by the brilliant Tracey Martin, a local singer from Creekmoor in Poole.

Belting out an Abba medley to start with, her set included some fond favourites such as Petula Clark’s “Downtown” and Dusty Springfield’s “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”, alongside many other classic tunes from the 1960s onwards.

Representatives from Lions of Christchurch, Brendancare, Age Concern and Dorset Partnerships for Older People Projects (POPP) all came to volunteer their time and efforts to help make the event at the beautiful Greystones Estate in Highcliffe a wonderful one for all involved.

The event will continue to take place for the foreseeable future, with all voluntary contributions building towards a large charitable donation at Christmas, and a special event to be announced in due course.
