Training Irish competitors

12:27pm GMT, Monday, 15 September 2008

The ICM Communications team recently joined Ben Milward for a day while he trained two young boys from Ireland how to race and ride safely.

Mark Carvill, aged 12, and John Meara, 14, were training with Ben for a week, leading up to the KWS Series on 24 August in which Mark was competing.

Both boys have been racing since they were six years old, and Ben has been teaching Mark for the past four years. All three took time out of their hectic training schedule to have a chat with ICM and offer valuable advice to other riders:

The racing season has gone well so far for Ben, who is now almost fully recovered from his injuries – Ben recently qualified at the Foxhills Maxxis British Championship however, due to technical issues with his bike, had an unfortunate crash and suffered a dislocated elbow and badly-sprained ankle.

Despite this, he is still racing and looking forward to another successful year in 2009.
