September date for Dorset Architectural Heritage Week
On August 6, 2007 @ 2:37 pm In Dorset Architectural Heritage Week
The hugely popular Dorset Architectural Heritage Week is now in its thirteenth year.
The annual Dorset Architectural Heritage Week will take place September 8-16 2007, giving visitors access to special events and historic properties normally closed to the public.
East Dorset Heritage Trust has unveiled a full itinerary for the event, which it is organising on behalf of the Dorset Architectural Heritage Week Association. A total of 60 activities will be taking place, including open days at Moors Valley Country Park, Portland Castle, Brownsea Island and Corfe Castle and guided walks in Poole, Weymouth, Christchurch and Blandford.
ICM Chief Executive Dr Alistair Somerville Ford has sponsored the annual event for the last five years. In March 2007, his ongoing support was acknowledged with a prestigious award from the Dorset Architectural Heritage Week Association. He said: “Dorset Architectural Heritage Week offers a fantastic opportunity for people young and old to enjoy architecture and culture across Dorset that they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to explore. I’m proud to support the event and am looking forward to taking part in many of the activities planned for 2007.”
