Jinja Vocational Training Centre underway
Recent photos from Uganda show that construction of the Jinja Vocational Training Centre is now well underway thanks to the hard work and fundraising efforts of the 38th Bournemouth Scouts & Avon Explorers group.
The Bournemouth Scouts’ Ugandan scout colleagues have already made a start to the construction – with most of the walls already built to window height – using the ICM-funded brick-building machine.
The scouts left for Uganda yesterday (26 July) to start helping to complete the building – it still needs a lot of work, including the construction of a roof and kitting the building out by laying floors, power and lighting.
The Bournemouth Scouts will continue to support the Jinja Vocational Training Centre once it has been built and have committed to partner with the Uganda Scouts in the longer term. It is hoped that they will be able to offer their support to education at the centre, and there is the possibility that more buildings may be constructed at the site.

The construction of the Jinja vocational Training centre is a good example to other people across Africa. The people of Uganda have set a stanard for others to follow.Remember, where there is a will, there is a way.If they have done it,why can’t others do it.
Bravo the people of Uganda.Next time build the University of Jinja.
May God be with you always.
