Bisterne Scarecrow Festival

On October 6, 2008 @ 9:56 am In Bisterne Scarecrow Festival

Nestled deep within the countryside that surrounds ICM headquarters, lies the sleepy village of Bisterne - home to an annual scarecrow festival.

Every year scores of people from across the country flock to the small village to view the multitude of imaginative scarecrows on display. A map directing visitors to each and every scarecrow can be bought for one pound, with all the proceeds going towards helping the Bisterne community. This year’s fundraising is in aid of ongoing repairs to the Village Hall.

The festival boasts scarecrows of all shapes and sizes, each pitted against the other in the competition, with notable entries being Midsomer Murders, Flour Power, Oil’s Well and Mr Men and the Bootcamp.

The Stockley family was crowned 2008’s overall champion with their charming and elaborate scarecrows in a scene titled ‘Cooee’.
